We are very appreciative of our rehearsal arrangements with St Etheldreda’s Church in Fulham and have offered them a concert of opera and musical favourites as a fundraiser.
A Sunday afternoon concert (starting at 3pm)… what a lovely way to finish a weekend.
Come along and support us and them at the same time!!
Sunday 17th July, 3pm, St Etheldreda’s Church, Fulham Palace Road SW6 6JF.
Tickets £15 – available here or on the door (cash or card).
It is with great regret that we had to cancel our three concerts of Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor.
Although we thought we would be safe as we had double-cast the soloists (and indeed triple-cast the Lucias), our conductor and musical director tested positive for Covid the day before our first performance and must go into isolation (get well soon, Peter).
We now propose to offer these concerts later in the Autumn. Watch this space for more information….
Lucia di Lammermoor
(in Italian, and in concert)
Donizetti’s famous bel canto opera
under the baton of Peter Crockford
and accompanied by George Ireland
Based on the Sir Walter Scott’s The Bride of Lammermoor, Donizetti produced one of the most famous ‘mad scenes’ in the opera canon, as Lucia, having stabbed her new (and unwanted) husband to death, confronts the wedding party guests (in her blood-soaked wedding gown) with her memories of her true love, Edgardo. Thrilling and moving… come and join us to hear it live in concert at our July performances.
