Our next project
Our next project will be a concert recounting the Orpheus myth (Eurydice’s kidnapping, the God’s involvement, Orpheus’ journey) using various excepts from the many, many versions of the Orpheus myth in opera – Gluck, Monteverdi, Offenbach, Birtwhistle, Peri, Glass etc, etc…
And it’s a chance for singers to be directly involved in both performance and content.
We will attempt to combine many different styles and settings into an evening relating the myth which will allow singers to sing solos/ensembles and choruses in a wide variety of styles (rather than choosing one version and being stuck in one genre). There is a tremendous amount of material to draw from and we’re very happy for you to suggest what you’d like to have the opportunity to sing. Alexsander Ribeiro de Lara, our MD, will have the final say, and there may need to be some juggling for the programme to make sense, but at the moment we’re open to your suggestions and requests. Ideas for ensembles and choruses are particularly welcome.
There are regular Thursday rehearsals from 24th Sept at a venue near Belsize Park tube station (7-10pm) and aim to present 2 performances March 4-6 2027.
Subscription fee will around £100 to £120 (probably on a variable scale) to cover our usual expenses (professional fees, rehearsal and performance venues).

Opera Integra is a registered charity (no.296206) that welcomes donations and gives charity performances for which it receives part of the income (the remainder going to the local charity).
In its early years, Opera Integra enjoyed financial support from Hammersmith & Fulham Council until 1994 when it ceased to be a local authority workshop and moved its main activities to the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, where it received generous support until 2004. Since then, Opera Integra has relied solely on ticket sales, donations, funds raised by its own efforts and the subscriptions paid by its members. We are grateful for any donations, which help us to continue our projects and performances.
